Having lived in Arizona where it is legal to openly carry a firearm there was never a problem with “calls to 911″. Actually, a concealed weapon is more dangerous due to the “Surprise” nature of discovering that the person next to you is armed, you have no way of knowing if that person is in legal possession or not. I do not believe a citizen has the right to demand proof of a CCW permit so how would one know? In Arizona the option of open carry gives the criminal types notice up front that the carrier is no one to be attacked as there is clear proof the carrier of such weapon is armed and ready to defend life and property. The result is the criminal type leaves as they do not want to have to face possible death for an unknown amount of loot (they like their fights to be one sided in their favor). It has been said “an armed society is a polite society. I’m am in no way against the CCW license, but I have seen first hand how well open carry works. What would be needed is a publicized education program explaining open carry and how it works to help eliminate the 911 “man with gun” calls. I believe random violent attacks would drop dramatically of the perpetrator could “see” that his intended victim could end his career of crime immediately!

Are you politically conservative or liberal. the questions below and how
you view them might give you a clue.

Consider for a moment the kind of people who lived in New Orleans nd the
kind of people who live in the Midwest. Then think - - -

Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding
telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and
helping the folks affected by the floods?

Where is all the media asking the tough questions
about why the federal government hasn’t solved the
problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks and trailers
are?

Why isn’t the Federal Government relocating Iowa
people to free hotels in Chicago?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government
blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete
with reports of cannibalism and shooting at
helicopters?.

Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates
rural people?

How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the
Iowa flooding ever again?

When New Orleans. flooded, it was a racist plan to wipe out black people.

Now that white people are being flooded in Iowa, we should investigate .. who?

I heard a dimwit on CNN yesterday say that this reminded him of New
Orleans . How?

Outside of being flooded, there is no looting, no people wandering the
streets looking for meanness, no grocery carts being shoved through
the water carrying stolen big screen TVs, no people sitting on the
tops of their houses waiting on the goverment to come and get them, no
police abandoning their posts, no Iowans bitching how the government
and George Bush is failing them. There is not one damn thing, other
than water, that is similar to New Orleans ..

The streets in Des Moines are empty. People left when they were told
to evacuate. They didn’t whine, bitch or blame the government for the
broken levees. They did what responsible people do in a crisis.

The actions of the people of Des Moines only makes the actions of the
people of New Orleans look worse

Where are all the fat welfare mom’s standing outside the super dome screaming for someone to bring them water?

I haven’t heard of anyone getting murdered during the Iowa floods.

Iowa: 90+% white

New Orleans: 90+% black.
